The City

Santiago de Compostela is the social, administrative and business capital of the autonomous community of Galicia and also a UNESCO World Heritage City. It is the final destination of the St. James Pilgrimage Route and reveals to travellers the splendour of centuries of architectonic design, combining a medieval Christian heritage with monumental baroque buildings.

Nowadays Santiago is a city that can welcome both business travellers and tourists, thanks to its impressive cultural richness and its modern infrastructures.

Tourism in the city

The tourist tour can be begun in the square of the Obradoiro, which is the place where the most important monuments are situated: the cathedral, Raxoi's Town hall, San Jerónimo's College (former university college) and the Hotel of the Kings Católicos.
